 Gerren Ford, Gen Art honoree  Amber Rose hosts Gen Art Kick-off LOS ANGELES, CA – Gen Art hosted its’ Los Angeles Fashion Alumni Celebration at the Roosevelt Hotel ON March 16 to begin the festivities surrounding L.A. Fashion Week. The evening was hosted by Amber Rose, former Ford model and rising style icon of a new generation, who is an avid supporter of emerging fashion industry talent:
“It was a pleasure to be part of the Gen Art Fashion Alumni celebration with such amazing designers. It is exciting that Gen Art continues to discover talent who influence the world of fashion,” said Amber Rose.
Notable attendance included Jazmin Whitley, Law & Order’s Anthony Anderson, E! News personality Ashlan Gorse, Project Runway contestants Althea Harper and Mila Hermanovski. The event specifically acknowledged the contributions of the designers who have been featured through the Gen Art design platform. Gen Art, dedicated to promoting and supporting the best emerging talent, has teamed up with 20 of their designer alumni to each present a signature look from their collections at the event. Participating designers included Brigid Catiis, Eduardo Lucero, Elmer Ave, Endovanera, Erik Hart, Freddie Rojas, Geren Ford, Wren, Grey Ant, Jared Gold, Jeffrey Sebelia, Katy Rodriguez, Kit Scarbo, Louis Verdad, Orthodox, Rami Kashou and Society for Rational Dress.
Sponsors included BOXeight, CLEAN & CLEAR®Skincare, Los Angeles Confidential, Kim Crawford wines, Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics, The Salon by Maxime and the Roosevelt Hotel. CLEAN & CLEAR® Skincare announced a new national fashion designer competition, which will give up-and-coming designers the chance to create the ultimate prom dress for one lucky teen.
Gen Art will be involved in additional LA Fashion Week events - the shows at BOXeight Studios, the launch of Molly Crabapple’s new collection for Dirtee Hollywood at Fred Segal and a concluding Fashion Week bash with Absolut Berri Acai on Monday night at Voyeur.
BOXeight’s showcase will run March 18-21st, where BOXeight will be creating creative photo shoot installations that allow guests get a behind the scene look at designer collections presented via a live photo shoot with some of the industry’s top stylists and core photographers.
